Completely Awful

Things went catastrophically wrong. It was a real train wreck. We tried to {compensate|mitigate the situation, but it was like trying to stop a flood with a teaspoon. We're still picking up the pieces and feeling the sting of this disaster.

Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

A Disaster of Epic Proportions

Dreadful Day Ever

It all started with a terrible case of terrible hair. I couldn't do it to look right. As I here was getting ready out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was completely behind schedule for school.

I with no time to spare. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was no use.

The rest of the day was an absolute nightmare. Everything. I couldn'tthink straight.

By the time I reached my destination, I was exhausted. This day, this horrific day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

Things Went From Bad to Absolutely Terrible

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then things went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
